Occupational Therapist
Job Description
Help residents improve their ability to perform daily tasks, such as dressing, cooking, and bathing. You will work with residents to identify areas of difficulty and design interventions to improve independence, quality of life, and overall well-being.
- Assess residents’ daily living skills and recommend strategies, assistive devices, or modifications to improve their independence.
- Work with residents to develop programs that enhance motor skills, cognitive function, and adaptive techniques for daily activities.
- Educate residents and their families about strategies to maintain independence and enhance quality of life.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure that care plans are comprehensive and centered around the residents’ needs.
- Provide training for care home staff on best practices for supporting residents’ functional abilities.
- Monitor progress and make adjustments to therapy plans as necessary.
Person Specification
- Degree in Occupational Therapy and appropriate certification.
- Experience working in elderly care or rehabilitation settings.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Empathetic and patient approach to care.
- Ability to assess needs and develop tailored interventions.
